Ombra to Enhance Runway Repair and Damage Assessment Capabilities for the Department of
the Air Force
TAMPA, FL –Ombra announces it has been selected by AFRL for a Phase II contract: RAVENSTRIKE in partnership with The Ohio State University. The Air Force Research Laboratory and AFWERX have streamlined the SBIR/STTR process by accelerating proposal-to-award timelines, expanding access for small businesses, and reducing bureaucratic overhead through ongoing process improvements. The DAF began offering the Open Topic SBIR/STTR program in 2018, expanding the range of innovations it funded. In May 2025, Ombra began its journey on the RAVENSTRIKE PH II Contract to deliver innovative capabilities that strengthen U.S. national defense.
